UMTS-GPRS Roaming ?

I would like someone to confirm that no roaming, between GPRS and UMTS applications, is scheduled.

If i'm walking using 3G in a 3G cell, and i have to change cell, and the nearest cell is a 2,5G one and not a 3G one, do i have to interrupt my data communication and reboot for gprs with my handset ??
